Meet many moonshiners & master distillers
From moonshiners as seen on TV to other well known master distillers, coppersmiths and still makers, you never know who you may see at the Louisiana Moonshine festival - lots of surprises are in store ... stay tuned ...
More than the moonshine
The inaugural Louisiana Moonshine Festival will be held March 7-8th, 2025 at the Vernon Parish Fairgrounds. This is a family friendly event that will feature a variety of vendors, food (including Louisiana crawfish), live music along with a chance to meet master distillers as seen on TV and some other special guests to be announced soon.
While there will be some moonshine tastings and various moonshine themed merchandise, this event is more than just about moonshine, it's about getting back to the basics and will spotlight the history and culture of Western Louisiana once known as "No Man's Land".
The event will include a celebration of our veterans and military with a special veterans tribute concert on Saturday night from 7 til 9 PM and is sponsored in part by Explore Louisiana, Vernon Parish Tourism along with Keeping It Country Live & AMVETS Veteran Tribute Series a 501(c)(19) Veterans Non-Profit.
No Man's Land
The Neutral Strip (No Man's Land) draws its name from the area's brief stint as the buffer zone between Spain and the United States after the Louisiana Purchase. Sometimes described as a place filled with an outlaw culture or as a region with a reputation for a tough and isolated place, the region is better understood as a safe haven for those cultural groups who wished to find a home where they could preserve a way of life they cherished.
